A Tour Guide job, travel tour guide jobs, or trip leader jobs will probably be one of the most incredible jobs you will have. This is by far my favorite way of getting paid to travel the world. Not for the money but for the life long experiences and the growth that I experience every time I finish a trip.
You can either do teen, adults trips or special needs groups. This can go from high class trips where you stay at hotels the whole time and taking care of the group to camping and cooking in the outdoors and having them take care of themselves. These can range from being facilitators for better group dynamics, to teaching a skill (like climbing) to working with a troubled group and keeping them in-line. You can also do the tourist guide job where you get a some people for a few hours show them around a certain place and then send them on their way.
Before you choose a tour guide job make sure you define which style of working with people you like. For instance, a tour guide on some train in the Alaskan mountain range is going to be a ton different then being a tour guide up on the glacier in those ranges. So first define what type of these tour guide jobs you would want.
As for myself, after going through a lot of these different styles of tour guide I have found that I love getting a group a 13 or so teenagers and taking them to some country and doing some in-depth traveling for a month. It's perfect for me, I get paid a lot to travel around the world, I learn about my self and I progress my abilities to work with youth so when I have kids of my own I'll have an idea about how to raise them instead of them being my parenting test subjects.
Once you define the ideal tour guide job it's time to go get it. There are a few important steps to getting that tour guide job every time but for now go ahead and put some time into the type of tour guide job you would like and then we will cover how to get that tour guide later. Good luck.
